Finally time for a bathroom remodel!! I’m so excited….
The one and only bathroom in my small Florida bungalow has been in need of a remodel since I moved in, and has been further deteriorating since. It’s got to the point where I have to turn the cold water off at the wall valve to prevent it from dripping, the hot water is almost at the same point. The pedestal sink drives me batty since it’s a space-hog without any storage (and effective storage in a minuscule bathroom is a must). The surface-mount ornately framed medicine cabinet is too large for the space and emphasizes how small the bathroom is (and simply gets in the way), not to mention the finish is rubbed off the frame in the lower left corner, the hinges are rusted, and no longer close properly and it looks like it came off someone’s trash pile. And the very cheap-looking floor tile is full of cracks, some are hollow, the grout looks like it was done by a 3-year old with ADHD, and someone concluded that the best way to add storage was to put a pre-used kitchen wall cabinet - complete with clearly visible old mortar still stuck to the lower edge of it, of course - making for a constant headache….literally. It sticks out just far enough for the corner of the door to frequently get in the way of my head.
I'll post before, during, and after pictures of the bathroom reno of course, once I get started, but in the meantime, here’s a sneak peek at my Modern Scandi vision.
