Some great ideas for DIYers - some mine, some borrowed, and some I plan to get to in between future posts!

The Birdhouse

The Birdhouse

The Birdhouse Uncaged

A recent endeavor - my c1956 Florida Bungalow in bright canary yellow (hence it's "Birdhouse" designation -  the cats seem to think that's a misnomer though: no feathered "friends" to be found in there). Great property with a ton of potential, but a tight space with an unfriendly layout: it needs a lot of work (more like "wants" than needs - it's liveable, but offends my sense of aesthetics in very profound ways), and will be a focus for DIY projects that I'll feature in this space.

Simplicity - Industrial Shoe Rack

Concrete for texture, wood for depth, less $ than a sushi dinner and the result? - a strikingly simple, industrial look shoe storage solution. It barely qualifies as DIY in it's infinite simplicity - if you can move (or find someone else who will) some wind blocks and find some good solid wood, you can do this ... at minimal cost, provided of course that you refrain from splurging on a expensive slab of reclaimed hardwood to top the blocks with. To help avoid that, some insights on how to age readily available wood are included.

Mailbox Mayhem - Curb Appeal

Design must be taboo for mailboxes: drive down most roads in South Florida where curbside mailboxes are used and you're not likely to find many that do anything to add to a property's curb appeal. Take a peak at this drab to fab, instant curb appeal mailbox revamp.
